TIGER AIRWAYS OPERATING STATISTICS FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2013

For the month of January 2013, Tiger Singapore recorded a 23% increase in traffic to 722 million revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK). As the increase in traffic outpaced the 8% increase in capacity, passenger load factor improved by 10 percentage points to 84%, from 74% a year ago. The number of passengers carried grew 16% compared to January 2012, to 383,000 passengers.
For the 12 months to January 2013, Tiger Singapore recorded an 18% increase in traffic to 7.7 billion RPK, following a 14% increase in capacity to 9.1 billion ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was 84%, up three percentage points from the corresponding period last year. The number of passengers carried grew 11% to 4.3 million passengers.
Tiger Australia
Tiger Australia recorded a 74% increase in traffic to 291 million RPK for the month of January 2013. As capacity increased at a lower 68% to 336 million ASK for the month, passenger load factor improved 3 percentage points to 87%. In January 2013, Tiger Australia carried 281,000 passengers, representing an increase of 108% over the previous corresponding period. The airline was operating at a significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule a year ago.
For the 12-month period, Tiger Australia recorded a 27% increase in traffic to 2.6 billion RPK, following a 28% increase in capacity to 3.2 billion ASK. Passenger load factor was 82%, down one percentage point from the previous corresponding period. The number of passengers carried grew 23% to 2.2 million passengers.
