Tiger Singapore recorded a 22% increase in traffic to 800 million revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK) for the month of December 2012. This comes on the back of a 15% increase in capacity to 904 million available seat-kilometres (ASK). Consequently, y-o-y passenger load factor was 6 percentage points higher at 89%. The number of passengers carried grew 19% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 436,000 passengers.
For the 12 months to December 2012, Tiger Singapore recorded a 19% increase in traffic to 7.6 billion RPK, following a 17% increase in capacity to 9.1 billion ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was 83%, up one percentage point from the previous corresponding period. The number of passengers carried grew 12% y-o-y to 4.2 million passengers.
Tiger Australia
Tiger Australia recorded a 90% increase in traffic to 268 million RPK for the month of December 2012. Capacity increased 95% to 338 million ASK for the month. The airline carried 258,000 passengers in December 2012, representing a y-o-y increase of 126%. However, the airline was operating at a significantly reduced capacity and on a limited schedule in December 2011. Passenger load factor, at 79%, reflected a y-o-y decline of two percentage points.
For the 12 months to December 2012, Tiger Australia recorded a 11% increase in traffic to 2.2 billion RPK, following a 14% increase in capacity to 3.0 billion ASK. Consequently, passenger load factor was 82%, down two percentage points from the earlier period. The number of passengers carried was grew 6% y-o-y to 2.1 million passengers
