The
25th edition
of EIBTM, the global hub for the meetings, incentives and business
travel industry,
opened its doors on Tuesday November 27, at Fira Gran Via in
Barcelona, Spain.
EIBTM
will welcome over 15,200 meetings professionals to Barcelona from
27th to 29th November for three days of business, education and
networking.
The
event showcases over 3,100 international organisations, representing
over 7,000 products and services including venues,
hotels, destinations,
technology, business travel and event service providers to
Hosted Buyers,Trade Visitors
and media attending.

Forum took place the day before EIBTM on Monday 26th November at Fira
Montjuic with over
500 delegateswho gathered to listen to keynote speaker
Barbara Kellerman, a lecturer at Harvard University Barbara
Kellerman, discussed “The End of Leadership”, this was then
followed by a panel discussion. Participants also attended a
networking reception hosted by the Majestic Hotel and Spa, in
Barcelona.
Martin
Lewis, Managing Editor of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine
and Managing Director of CAT Publications Ltd was awarded the first
‘EIBTM Lifetime Achievement Award’,
in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the meetings and
events industry over the past 25 years at EIBTM Forum.
Accepting
his award, Martin Lewis said, “The past quarter century for me
has been great fun with great friends in a great industry. I doubt if
there is a friendlier industry in the world I am both pleased and
grateful to receive this award. But I cannot accept it on my own
behalf. I have to accept it on behalf of my two co-directors Richard
Corser and Steve Lewis and the amazing team we have at CAT
Publications because without them I couldn’t have done anything.

CONFIRMS EXTENDED STAY IN BARCELONA
EIBTM

business travel industry has confirmed that the show will remain in
Barcelona until 2016 and will continue to be hosted in the Fira Gran
Via.
