At
least 810 executives of 582 companies from 58 countries have so far
confirmed their participation in the PATA Travel Mart to be held in
Manila, September 25-28 at the city’s SMX Convention Center.
“The
world’s continents will do business in the Philippines during PTM.
Representatives will come from the
Americas,
the Asia Pacific, Europe, the
Middle East and
Africa,” said DOT Undersecretary for Planning and Promotions and
Philippine Host Organizing Committee Chairman, Daniel G. Corpuz.
“We
will have the eyes of the global tourism market and industry on the
Philippines during and after PTM as members of the international
press and PATA’s own media network cover
proceedings,” he said. Undersecretary Corpuz added that PTM was an
enormous opportunity to showcase to the travel industry the country’s
new brand promise, “It's more fun in the Philippines.”
Corpuz
said PTM would also highlight the country’s improved high-end room
facilities and destinations that are ready to cater to the meetings,
incentives, events and conventions (MICE) sector.
