Valor Hospitality expands African portfolio with two new signings

Valor Hospitality has announced two new hotel signings in South Africa, adding 189 rooms to its international portfolio as part of its continued expansion across Africa.

The new additions include the Umfolozi River Hotel, KwaZulu-Natal, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and The Daily APT Hotel – Green Point, Cape Town.

According to the company, Africa continues to represent one of Valor Hospitality’s key growth markets, with the group currently managing more than 100 hotels across 22 countries in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The Umfolozi River Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is being developed in partnership with Hilton and is expected to open in 2028. Located near Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal Province, the property will include 102 guestrooms and suites, alongside leisure, wellness and event facilities. The project adds to the portfolio of hotels managed by Valor Hospitality on behalf of Hilton.

The second signing, The Daily APT Hotel – Green Point, Cape Town, is scheduled to open in 2027 and will serve as a flagship property for the new South African aparthotel brand. The seven-storey development will feature studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, as well as lofts and duplexes. Facilities will include a rooftop pool and bar, listening room, all-day restaurant and lobby bar.

Tony Romer-Lee, Co-Founder and Managing Partner AMEA at Valor Hospitality Partners, said: “The signing of The Umfolozi River Hotel, Kwazulu Natal, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a testament to the continued growth and sophistication of the hospitality sector in KwaZulu-Natal. We are thrilled to partner with Mr Mkhize and Hilton to bring this unique brand to South Africa.

“This project goes beyond design and delivery – it is deeply rooted in the community. Through our partnership with the South Africa College of Tourism, we are committed to upskilling local talent, ensuring that the hotel creates sustainable employment and meaningful opportunities for the surrounding communities.

“There is a significant shift toward stays that feel more natural and flexible, and The Daily Aparthotels fit into that gap without trying too hard. For Valor, this is an opportunity to demonstrate how world-class service can be integrated into a lifestyle-led, multi-faceted asset that serves both short-term visitors and those looking for a longer summer relocation.”
