The harmful Farm Bill continues to move forward and is now heading to a Senate vote. Last week, we asked you to speak out as these threats emerged—now, the stakes are even higher.
This bill is a dangerous handout to industrial agriculture. The “Save Our Bacon Act” provision, especially, represents an unprecedented overreach of federal power—stripping states of their ability to regulate agriculture, overturning widely supported animal protection laws like Prop 12, and ignoring the clear demand from American voters and consumers for less cruelty in our food system.
This Farm Bill expands subsidies for factory farms, weakens animal welfare protections, and opens the door for even more animals to be raised in overcrowded, inhumane conditions with little oversight or accountability. We can’t allow hard-won victories protecting animals from intensive confinement to be undermined or overturned. Legislators need to hear from you right now! A single message can influence how they vote in moments like this.
At a time when we should be moving away from factory farming, this bill entrenches it further—protecting corporate interests while animals continue to suffer.
This is not a fair Farm Bill. It puts corporate agriculture over animals, farmers, and communities.

Sample Script:
“Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent from [City, State]. I’m calling to urge Senator [Last Name] to vote NO on the current Farm Bill. This bill includes harmful provisions like the so-called “Save Our Bacon Act,” which would override state laws like California’s Prop 12 and allow the extreme confinement of farmed animals to continue. For millions of animals, this vote will determine whether they are forced to live in cages so small they can’t move, or if basic welfare protections remain in place. I urge the Senator to oppose this bill and stand with constituents who support more humane standards in our food system. Thank you for your time.”
