Cambodia Tourism Board launches a location scouting program for international film productions

For Minea Kim, CEO of the CTB (Cambodia Tourism Board), visibility of the Kingdom is the first task to lift the country’s image and attract more international visitors.

In parallel to the recent launch of a familiarization program for up to 500 travel agents with subsidized air fares and special tours, the CBT is now looking at turning the Kingdom into the world’s next filming destination.

The Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) consequently launched the Location Scouting Program, a strategic initiative designed to support global productions across film, television, documentary, and commercial sectors by assisting production teams to experience and explore Cambodia’s filming potential firsthand.

Through this initiative, CTB will provide support to international film producers, directors, and location managers for up to five (5) days of on-ground expenses during the location scouting phase, including accommodation, ground transportation, fixer or guide services, permits, and entry fees for national parks and heritage sites. ” Having a film made in Cambodia showing our country is a powerful advertising tool. And at the same time, the program is also a way to bring more international visitors to our country,” explains Kim.
