The four-storey hotel will feature 120 guest rooms and suites and is positioned to serve as a central hospitality hub within downtown Lawrenceville. The property will include two dining venues, more than 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, a fitness centre and an outdoor courtyard designed as a social gathering area.
David Still, Mayor of Lawrenceville,
said: “Creativity, incredible resolve, and an unwavering belief in what
this project could mean for our community carried it forward through a global
pandemic and a rapidly changing economic climate. The Downtown Development
Authority, City Council, our executive leadership team, and dedicated staff
across multiple departments stood strong as true partners throughout the
journey. Together, they turned a challenging chapter in history into a
remarkable achievement for Lawrenceville.”
He added: “The Lawrence Hotel now stands as a symbol of
Lawrenceville’s spirit and its bright future.”
The Lawrence Hotel is a new-build development located less than a block
from the Aurora Theatre, the second-largest professional theatre in Georgia,
and within walking distance of restaurants, shops and cultural attractions in
downtown Lawrenceville.
The architectural concept blends contemporary design with industrial
elements reflecting the city’s heritage. The exterior features brick façades,
wrought-iron accents and oversized factory-style floor-to-ceiling windows in
the guest rooms.
Greg Winey, President and Principal
of NorthPointe Hospitality Management & Development, the developer and management company behind the project, said: “The Lawrence was conceived eight years ago with the belief that
thoughtful hospitality can help shape a community’s future. From the beginning,
our goal was to create more than just a hotel. We set out to invest in
Lawrenceville itself, building a place that contributes to its growth,
vitality, and sense of belonging for generations to come.”
He added: “I am eternally grateful for the City’s partnership, creativity and patience during this entire journey. It has been nothing short of outstanding.
The hotel’s interiordesign contrasts the industrial exterior with warm
natural materials including wood, stone and leather. Large windows allow
natural light into the guest rooms and common areas, while brick arches and
seating areas create spaces intended for informal gatherings.
Food and beverage operations will include two venues highlighting regional
products. Executive Chef Dominic Simpson will
lead the culinary programme.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Bellfire, takes its
name from the city’s historic bell tower and firehouse and will centre its menu
around a wood-fire grill. Dishes include Stuffed Bramlett Farms Trout with
Crawfish Succotash and Fire-grilled Châtel Farms Prime Ribeye, alongside
ingredients sourced from regional producers such as Ellijay Mushrooms,
Plantation Quail, Comfort Farms, Joyce Farms and Anson Mills.
The second venue, Old Nick’s, is named after a mule that pulled buggies and
firefighting equipment in Lawrenceville in the early 1900s. The bar will
feature craft cocktails, whiskey, wine and local beers including those from
Slow Pour Brewing Co. and Ironshield Brewing. The venue will also offer small
plates.
An outdoor courtyard will include a full-service bar, firepits and seating
areas designed for guests and local residents. The beverage programme includes
cocktails such as the Hearth Old Fashioned, Mediterranean Mule with Thyme and
the Fig & Olive Martini, along with a selection of alcohol-free cocktails.
The Lawrence Hotel will also include meeting and event facilities capable
of hosting corporate and social events for up to 260 guests. The venues combine
indoor and outdoor spaces and will offer curated menus, bar services and
on-site meeting planning support.
According to the developers, the event facilities are intended to support
both local and visiting groups while encouraging guests to explore the
restaurants, shops and cultural attractions of downtown Lawrenceville.
The Lawrence Hotel Lawrenceville is expected to open during Summer 2026.
