An Overview of LEGO Galaxy
Merlin has
provided LEGO Galaxy with a 3-year development plan,
creating a new immersive experience in space and LEGOs with LEGO storytelling. The total space has 583,000 LEGO bricks and is completed with 3
large-scale models and themed environments to create the new universe
with interactive storytelling. LEGO Galaxy spans 2.4 acres to
create the new experience.
Exciting Features of Galacticoaster
The Galacticoaster is LEGOLAND
California’s biggest attraction and its first-ever indoor family coaster. Customers can personalize their
indoor roller coaster ride by creating their own spaceships. Customers can
choose different parts of the spaceship, including the nose cone, tail, and
have the option to add a disco ball or balloons to their ship. This creation of
a custom ship has over 625 possible ship combinations.
Customers are given a digitally linked RFID wristband to create their ship and can see their ship on a screen. The roller coaster provides thrilling 40 mph rides with twists and turns. The ride incorporates LEGO movies, music, and lights to enhance the experience. Guests can even interact with a pre-show, while being led by the first-ever LEGOLAND robotic minifigure, Biff Dipper.
New Exciting Attractions for All Ages
In addition to
the new Galacticoaster, there are even more rides for all age
groups. At the G-Force Test Facility, guests
experience the swinging, tilting, and turning motions of real astronauts in
space. For toddlers, the DUPLO Launch and Land ride
is a gentle flight simulator that imitates
takeoffs and landings. There is also the Junior Astronaut Training Zone,
which has a play area for toddlers and children to explore at their own
volition.
The Rocket Assembly Bay invites visitors to build their own LEGO rocket and digitally assemble it to virtually launch it into space, continuing the tradition of the ever-popular STEM imaginations and LEGO brand.
Junior Galaxy Explorers Get Exclusive Access
Galacticoaster was opened to the Junior Galaxy Explorers first.
They were also the first to go on the ride. They were picked from 350 other
contestants. They also had to go through a nationwide STEM competition,
where they had to build a LEGO spaceship. The
winners also came from San Francisco, Pasadena, San Juan Capistrano, and Chula
Vista.
LEGO Galaxy Also Includes Food, Shopping, and Entertainment
Three new food
outlets and a new shopping place opened in LEGO Galaxy. They
are U.F.O. (Ultimate Food Outlet), Satellite Bites, and Stardust Sips & Sweets.
They also opened Orbital Outpost, which sells LEGO Galaxy-themed items. They also have a new live
show, Mission: Blast Off!, that runs 3 times a day. Guests
can also participate in interactive experiences with the characters.
