Alexandria, VA; March 25, 2026 – The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) today announced a partnership with the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA) to support federal employees facing financial hardship during the current partial government shutdown. As part of this effort, ASTA is contributing $10,000 to support FEEA’s emergency assistance program.
Through this partnership, ASTA is helping raise funds for FEEA’s emergency hardship program, which provides grants to eligible federal employees impacted by government shutdowns. These grants are designed to help cover essential living expenses during periods of missed pay.
Frontline workers, including Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers who play a critical role in keeping the traveling public safe, are among those affected by the shutdown and may benefit from this support.
“Travel advisors see firsthand the vital role TSA officers and other federal employees play in keeping the travel system running safely and smoothly,” said Zane Kerby, President and CEO of ASTA. “This is an opportunity to step up in a meaningful way to support those who continue to serve the public despite financial uncertainty.”
FEEA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting civilian federal and postal employees, has a long history of providing emergency financial assistance during government shutdowns and other crises.
ASTA encourages its members, partners and the traveling public to contribute to this effort. Donations will go toward FEEA’s established relief programs supporting eligible federal employees experiencing hardship during the shutdown.
