Accor CEO Sébastien Bazin visits Dubai to reinforce the group’s commitment to UAE and regional teams

In a high-profile demonstration of Accor commitment to UAE and the wider Middle East, Group Chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin travelled from Paris to Dubai yesterday. The visit included top-level diplomatic meetings and direct engagement with the group’s regional workforce amidst ongoing geopolitical shifts in the region.

A central highlight of the visit was a meeting with HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE. The discussions focused on Dubai’s strategic tourism initiatives and its continued status as a premier destination for international hospitality investment.

Writing on LinkedIn, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated: “I met with Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor Group, one of the world’s leading hospitality and hotel management companies. We discussed Dubai’s projects and initiatives that have helped position it among the world’s leading tourism destinations and one of the most attractive markets for international investment.”

Solidarity and Internal Resilience

Beyond state-level discussions, Bazin’s itinerary focused heavily on internal morale and operational support. Highlighting the “people-first” nature of the Accor commitment to UAE, the CEO hosted a special iftar gathering at 25hours Hotel Dubai One Central.

The event brought together Accor’s General Managers and “Corporate Heartists”—the group’s internal term for its dedicated employees. Amidst the current regional unrest, Bazin utilised the gathering to foster a sense of togetherness and to offer a clear reminder that the group’s commitment to its people and regional operations remains unwavering.

Strategic Long-Term Vision

The visit serves as a quiet but firm message to the global travel industry regarding the resilience of the Dubai market. By maintaining a physical presence on the ground and engaging directly with leadership, Accor reinforces its position as a key stakeholder in the UAE’s tourism ecosystem.

Industry analysts view Bazin’s Paris-to-Dubai journey as a critical gesture of solidarity. As the regional landscape evolves, the emphasis on collective navigation, supported by executive-level resilience, remains a cornerstone of the Accor commitment to UAE.

The visit concludes with a reinforced outlook for Accor’s development pipeline in the Emirates, underpinned by the strong relationship between the hospitality giant and the UAE’s ministerial leadership.
