AI-driven corporate travel demand is increasing in 2026, with longer stays, VIP travel and project-based assignments expanding across established and emerging technology hubs, according to first Quarterly Market Update of the year by SilverDoor.
Corporate
travel activity is
rising in response to growing requirements for specialist roles in artificial
intelligence, machine learning, data governance and cyber security.
Destinations including San Francisco, Seattle, Beijing, London and Dublin are
experiencing increased booking volumes.
The report highlights growing demand for temporary housing and serviced
accommodation as talent mobility and leadership-level transitions accelerate
within the technology sector. Expansion of technology companies into new
markets is generating additional project-based and longer-term travel and
relocation assignments in emerging hubs such as Munich, Bengaluru and
Vancouver.
SilverDoor also reports an increase in requests for
specialised executive management of extended apartment stays, alongside demand
for higher-end accommodation to meet the requirements of senior-level
executives.
The expansion of the AI and data centre market is
contributing to growth across construction, energy, mechanical engineering,
security, logistics and infrastructure sectors. These developments are expected
to further drive demand for temporary accommodation solutions.
With global data centre capacity forecast to double by 2030, construction workers, engineers and project teams are mobilising across emerging data centre hubs including Indonesia, India, Dubai, Riyadh, Phoenix and Atlanta, creating immediate demand for flexible, mid-term housing options.
Claire Barrie, Chief
Commercial Officer – SilverDoor, said: “It’s great to see such a strong and dynamic
start to 2026, and it’s exciting to look at the scale of opportunity across the
global accommodation sector right now. The rapid growth of the technology
sector in particular continues to be a key global demand driver. From the data
centre boom to the race for AI and data science talent, tech-driven demand is
huge in both established and emerging tech hubs across the US, India and Middle
East; and the impact is spilling out into increased VIP requests from senior
and highly specialised tech professionals, as well as more project-driven
demand from across the energy, construction, infrastructure and professional
services fields.
“For buyers and
bookers, particularly those supporting tech-driven programmes, priorities
should be getting ahead of demand in emerging locations by securing
accommodation early, ensuring pre-approval processes are flexible enough to
move at the pace the market demands, and lean on your accommodation partner’s
local knowledge — especially in these newer markets where supply is still
catching up. For those managing VIP and senior executive travel, now is the
time to ensure you have the right accommodation partner in your corner to help
meet these rising expectations.”
