PTG Consulting delivers Saudi Tourism Authority’s first virtual tradeshow, engaging 1,500 travel professionals

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA – PTG Consulting has announced the successful delivery of the Saudi Tourism Authority’s (STA) inaugural virtual tradeshow, held from 16-18 September 2025. The event marked the first time STA has organised a virtual tradeshow in any market, reflecting a growing focus on digital engagement as part of destination promotion strategies.

Developed in partnership with Northstar Travel Group, the three-day online event engaged more than 1,500 travel advisors and tour operators from across the United States, Canada and additional international markets. The platform provided travel professionals with updates on Saudi Arabia’s tourism offerings and key developments ahead of the 2025/26 winter season.

Participants joined a welcome address from STA and attended five educational webinars covering regional destinations such as Diriyah, AlUla and the Red Sea, as well as an overview of Saudia Airlines and Saudi Arabia’s “UNREAL” events calendar for winter 2025/26. The programme also facilitated one-to-one meetings with 34 stakeholders, including destination marketing organisations, DMCs, airlines and luxury hotels.

According to PTG Consulting, the tradeshow generated more than 11,000 virtual booth visits and over 30,000 video views. Representation reached all 50 U.S. states and major Canadian provinces, providing broad market exposure for participating suppliers.

“This landmark event showcased Saudi Arabia’s tourism offerings to a global audience and demonstrated the power of virtual engagement to build new connections, drive industry collaboration, and position Saudi Arabia as a leading destination for future travel,” said Ken Mastrandrea, Chief Operating Officer, PTG Consulting.

The virtual tradeshow forms part of a wider effort to build trade readiness and expand knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s tourism landscape among international distribution partners, with digital engagement serving as a complementary channel to in-market trade activities.
