Christoph Debus takes over as CEO of Dertour Group

With effect from March 1, 2025, Christoph Debus will become CEO of the Dertour Group. Debus will lead the international tourism group with over 10,000 employees as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Dertour Group Group together with Dr. Ingo Burmester, CEO Central Europe, Patrick Lambertz, Group CFO since January 1, 2025, and Leif Vase Larsen, CEO International. Debus will also be a member of REWE Group’s extended Management Board team as Divisional Director for Tourism – similar to those responsible for the strategic business units (such as PENNY, Lekkerland, toom, BILLA). In this new function, he will report directly to the CEO of REWE Group, Lionel Souque. The REWE Group Management Board is thus emphasizing the strong role of the tourism unit and strengthening the operational and strategic effectiveness of its management team.

Christoph Debus (53) has more than 30 years of experience in the mobility and travel industry. Most recently, he has been Group CFO of Flix SE since 2022. He started his career at Roland Berger and went on to become CFO of Condor Flugdienst GmbH, CCO and COO of Air Berlin, CEO of Thomas Cook PLC Group Airlines and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Serviceware SE. After three years as Managing Director of the Condor Airline Group, he joined Flix SE as Group CFO in 2022.

“I am glad that we were able to bring Christoph Debus on board, an extremely dynamic and strategic international leader, as CEO of the Dertour Group. This puts us in an ideal position to tackle the ambitious goals for our tourism division with full force. We are thus further strengthening the Dertour Group on its successful path and emphasizing its strategic importance for the REWE Group. With his diverse and relevant expertise, Debus is very familiar with the market environment in tourism and will successfully continue to drive the ambitious growth course of our tourism division in close cooperation with Dr. Ingo Burmester, Patrick Lambertz, Leif Vase Larsen and the entire (management) team,” explains Lionel Souque, CEO of REWE Group.
