Big players in action – Hot topics in the industry and innovation track at ENTER

At the ENTER 2014 Conference, taking place between the 21st and 24st January, 2014 in Dublin, Ireland, one of the three main streams to be discussed will be the ‘Industry and Innovation track’ where tourism professionals will examine a number of cutting-edge topics related to the conference’s main theme "Where Social Inspiration meets Dynamic eTourism Innovation".

ENTER 2014, which is organised by the International Federation for Information Technologies in Travel and Tourism (IFITT), offers a worldwide and unique forum for attendees from academia, industry, government, and other organizations to actively exchange, share, and challenge state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism. The Industry and Innovation track will comprise five moderated sessions.  These sessions will focus on the issues; ‘Constant Connectivity’, ‘Effective Use of Search and Social Media Marketing Tools’, Next Generation of Travel Tourism Standards’ and ‘Smart Tourism Ecosystems in Asia’.

During the focused sessions eTourism experienced travel and tourism professionals will discuss highly relevant topics and outline best practice examples from technology-savvy organisations. Presentations will include ‘The Impact of Graph Search in the Travel Industry’ presented by Nikolas Cookies from Watertron and ‘Should Travel Business Still Be Investing in SEO’ by Ross MacDonald from Bluepost Digital’. 

In addition and for the first time, ENTER 2014 has included two sessions that will explicitly point out issues concerning the eTourism development in Asia. The ‘Digital Landscape Across Asia’ will be the main topic of a joint session with the destination track, covering topics like ‘The Innovative Use of Technology in Tourism in Taiwan & Asia’ or ‘Current Issues and Future Trends of China Hospitality Information Technology’. Moreover, there will be a workshop moderated by Chulmo Koo from Kyung Hee University about ‘Smart Tourism Ecosystems in Korea’.

ENTER 2014 will take place from January 21-24, 2014 in the Chartered Accountants House in Dublin, Ireland.
