FITUR 2026 announced Best Stand and Sustainable Stand Award winners

MADRID – FITUR 2026 has announced the winners of the 46th Best Stand Awards and the 7th Sustainable Stand Awards during the third professional day of the International Tourism Trade Fair, organised by IFEMA MADRID from 21 to 25 January.

The awards recognise excellence in stand design, image and functionality, as well as commitment to sustainable participation across autonomous communities, countries, regions and companies exhibiting at the event.

In the Companies category, the Best Stand Awards were presented to Vincci, Meliá and Alsa. Vincci was recognised for an original and playful stand concept, featuring Op Art-inspired compositions and spaces designed for visitor interaction. Meliá received the award for a stand that conveys a simple and elegant brand identity with a strong Mediterranean and natural character, centred around an olive tree and an organically developed architectural design. Alsa was awarded for a layout structured around a central corridor, integrating its brand identity through a clear and functional spatial design.

In the Countries and Regions category, Guatemala, Abu Dhabi and Egypt were selected as winners. Guatemala’s stand was distinguished for its minimalist design incorporating wood, colourful textile threads, a pyramidal screen and Mayan-inspired imagery. Abu Dhabi presented a stand combining luxury finishes with traditional elements, recreating both an oasis and an urban environment through materials such as latticework, sand, dark wood and green-toned furnishings. Egypt showcased its historical heritage through references to Abu Simbel and the Grand Egyptian Museum, using Egyptian stone and luminous architectural elements across exhibition and commercial areas.

The Autonomous Communities category recognised Castilla y León, Madrid and Galicia. Castilla y León presented a stand inspired by an artificial night-time sky, linked to the solar eclipse expected in August 2026. Madrid’s stand, titled “Madrid Marca, the brand of Madrid”, featured a monumental design combining technology, tradition and contemporary urban life. Galicia’s proposal focused on land, water and rain, using reflective surfaces and moving images to convey the region’s natural identity.

FITUR also announced the winners of the 7th Sustainable Stand Awards, highlighting initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Galicia was recognised for using textile materials made from the recycling of more than 50,000 plastic bottles in the construction of its stand panels.

The Government of Cantabria received an award for its sustainability platform “Inicia 2030”, developed to monitor sustainability objectives and results, as well as for implementing a dismantling protocol that avoids demolition of the exhibition space. Grupo Piñero was recognised for a comprehensive sustainability strategy involving all stakeholders, including visitors.

The Castelldefels City Council was also awarded for structuring its sustainability approach around local cultural identity, using the traditional beach bar as a central design element that also provided materials for the stand’s platform and components.
