July 2025 was another month in which LOT Polish Airlines achieved record-high operating results. Following an outstanding first half of the year, the national carrier recorded the best month on record in the 96 years of the airline’s history. The number of passengers who travelled aboard LOT aircraft in July was the highest in the company’s history, and the carrier’s planes remained in the air for the highest number of hours, covering the largest distance on record.
Key operating metrics for July 2025:
1,185,946 passengers – the number of people who travelled by LOT in July.
11,072 flight operations – an average of over 350 flights per day.
25,623 block hours – the time the national carrier’s planes spent in the air. If they flew without any interruptions, they would remain airborne for almost 3 years. The result is by nearly 1,000 hours better than in the record July of 2019.
15.5 million kilometres – the distance covered by LOT aircraft. It is an equivalent of 400 trips around the world along the equator, or 20 journeys to the moon and back.
As far as European connections are concerned, Vilnius, London and Amsterdam were the most popular destinations. In the long-haul segment, flights to Toronto, New York (JFK) and Chicago saw the highest numbers of passengers.
Consistent expansion of the connection network was the factor that contributed to the superb results the most. In 2025, the carrier launched flights from Kraków to Paris Orly, as well as from Warsaw to Thessaloniki, Malta, Reykjavik and Lisbon. But that’s not all. In the fall, planes with the national carrier’s logo will depart for Marrakesh and Rovaniemi, with even more routes expected to be announced by the end of the year. Such an approach allows LOT to keep reinforcing its status of the preferred airline in this part of Europe.
I would like to thank every passengers we welcomed aboard in July. The trust they showed is the best proof of LOT Polish Airlines’ position of the preferred carrier in the region. The record-breaking month is a result of the hard work of the entire team and confirms that our growth strategy, based on the hub-centric model, is successful. We will continue to expand our route network and acquire new aircraft to strengthen our fleet, enabling us to carry an even greater number of passengers.

By increasing the number of destinations, LOT is consistently boosting the number of transfer flights available at the Chopin Airport in Warsaw. Today, nearly 60% of those travelling aboard LOT planes are transit passengers. The acquisition of new aircraft will enable the airline to continue to expand the range of connections offered. At the end of the year, the first of the 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes the carrier has ordered will arrive in Warsaw, straight from the Boeing factory in Seattle. The planes, as well as the Airbus A220 machines ordered previously, will contribute to implementing the airline’s 2024-2028 strategy
