Cartagena & Sanary-sur-Mer: Spain & the French Riviera

Along the coast between Malaga and Nice, the smaller harbors carry the region's character, with old town lanes and cafés that open onto the water. Seven nights connect southern Spain and the French Riviera in May, as the air warms and before the summer crowds arrive.

An evening in Cartagena offers time to linger the way locals do, with late-night tapas near the Roman theater. Farther north, Port-Vendres meets the Pyrenees and Sanary-sur-Mer sells its morning catch straight off the boats. Aboard SeaDream, the arrival is personal, the yacht dropping anchor in a quiet cove, where dinner on deck unfolds as the last light turns the sea to gold.

The Mediterranean reveals the most to those who travel it slowly and up close. SeaDream's yachts reach the smaller ports larger ships leave behind, where days ashore follow a local pace and the crew shapes each voyage around the guests on it. Our latest blog shares how intimate yachting brings the region closer, from the ports themselves to the people, flavors, and traditions that give each one its character.
