U.S. hotel results for week ending Aug. 29

The U.S. hotel industry reported a 20th consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons, according to CoStar data through Aug. 29.

August 23-29 (percentage change from comparable week in 2025):

Occupancy: 64.1% (+1.1%)
ADR: $157.14 (+0.6%)
RevPAR: $100.69 (+1.7%)

A slowdown in year-over-year growth was due to the Labor Day calendar shift.

Among the top 25 markets, San Francisco saw the largest gains across each of the three key performance metrics: occupancy (+25.0% to 82.8%), ADR (+28.0% to $231.82) and RevPAR (+59.9% to $191.87). The market’s performance was mainly driven by the Pokémon World Championships.

New Orleans reported the steepest declines in occupancy (-14.9% to 40.6%) and RevPAR (-18.4% to $47.50). The market’s performance was due to a comparison against Southern Decadence last year.

New York City registered the only double-digit drop in ADR (-12.3% to US$279.72).
