The property anchors a prime corner of the Central Business District, directly across from the new Continental Coliseum, the $1 billion arena that will become the future home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. The hotel sits close to the city’s core office towers, the Oklahoma City Convention Center, the Bricktown Entertainment District and the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
AHG intends to undertake an extensive renovation of the property in the near future, updating the guestrooms, public spaces, food and beverage outlets and meeting and event facilities to full-service, upper-upscale standards. Brand affiliation following the renovation will be announced at a later date.
“This is one of the most distinctive buildings in the Oklahoma City skyline, and it sits on what we believe is the best hotel corner in the state,” said Anish Patel, president, AHG. “With the Continental Coliseum rising directly across the street, our job now is to bring the product up to the standard this location has always deserved.”
For years, the building operated as the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel, carrying a flag it gave up after AHG developed the Renaissance Oklahoma City Downtown Bricktown Hotel, a 182-room property that opened in 2022. AHG now owns both properties.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
