We are grateful to share The Ker & Downey Foundation's mid-year giving update, along with meaningful news and progress from several of our philanthropic partners. A special thank you to everyone who contributed to these ongoing projects. For every trip booked with Ker & Downey World Travel, a portion goes to support the following philanthropies. ABOUTAsia Travel:  Furthering the Education of Children in Siem Reap In December of 2025 with help from the Ker & Downey Foundation, ABOUTAsia Impact expanded their learning center by purchasing an existing floating structure in poor condition and fully renovating it into a safe and functional classroom. Galo Plaza Lasso Foundation: Condor Chicks & Summer School With only 150 wild condors remaining in Ecuador, Galo Plaza Lasso is home to nine condors including one chick born last November. Their Condor Huasi Project has been one of the most successful with a total of nine chicks born. In August, 60-70 children will take part in a summer school program hosted by Galo Plaza Lasso where students can nourish their creative side by learning photography, storytelling, and aerial acrobatics.  The Zuleta Scholarship Program is sponsoring 23 children for the 2026-2027 school year which covers uniforms, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, and school fees. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy:  Running for Rangers Ker & Downey World Travel has hit the ground running with new partner, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Philanthropy manager Amy Willis is taking on the For Rangers Ultra this September, running 143 miles over 5 days in Northern Kenya with the goal of raising money for the rangers who protect Africa’s wildlife.   Read about the race’s mission and support these rangers by donating to the fundraiser >> Bana Ba Letsatsi: The Classroom is Underway  The new classroom block that the Ker & Downey Foundation campaigned for is well underway! President David Marek and his family visited Bana Ba Letsatsi in May for a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the new classroom block. While construction is still in the final stages, it was a heartwarming ceremony to celebrate our partnership. Read More about the Marek family's visit to Bana Ba Lesatsi >>  BrookeUSA Foundation: Creating Better Conditions for Working Equine in Egypt  In Egypt, funds to Brooke helped to provide free veterinary care in the brick kilns—offering deworming, vaccinations, and community education in animal welfare. Additionally, a covered stable has been built with feeding and water troughs, and the donkeys are now used in turns, ensuring they receive time to rest. Ripples Foundation:  Meeting the students we support in Uganda  Director of Marketing Sara Marek Kramer had the privilege of visiting the 36 students that the foundation sponsors by paying for their tuition, uniforms, and additional schooling. “When we first began supporting children through the Ripples Foundation several years ago, I saw each of their photos cross my desk. But meeting them in person truly changed my life. Seeing firsthand that they now have the opportunity to not just survive, but truly thrive, is something we as a company and our clients can all be incredibly proud of.” JaJa Ministry and Community Outreach: Helping to Feed the Elderly in Uganda Through the JaJa Ministry, the Ker & Downey Foundation helps feed and assist with the needs of the elderly in Uganda.
