Avianca strengthens its network in the United States with new frequencies and year-round operations

  •  Currently, the company operates more than 400 weekly flights to 14 destinations in the United States. By 2025, the company will carry more than 4.9 million passengers in this market.
  • Subject to government approval, the routes Bogotá–Fort Lauderdale, Barranquilla–Miami and Medellín–Orlando are expected to register a significant increase in their daily offer.

Bogota, May 2, 2026. Avianca today announced its intention to strengthen connectivity between the United States and the rest of the continent, through increased frequencies and the consolidation of strategic routes. The expansion plan is detailed below:

  • Bogotá – Fort Lauderdale: inclusion of an additional daily frequency, totaling two flights per day.
  • Barranquilla – Miami: will go from three weekly frequencies to a daily operation (one flight every day).
  • Medellín – Orlando: the route will be established permanently, with daily frequency.

"This growth aims to consolidate Avianca's global network, which currently connects North America to more than 80 destinations in the Americas and Europe, facilitating not only tourism, but also trade," the company said.

Currently, Avianca offers a robust network in the United States, including cities such as Boston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Las Vegas (last seasonally), among others. In addition, travelers from the United States will be able to access a wide network of destinations in the Caribbean and South America.

The implementation of these new operations is subject to the authorizations of the competent authorities in each country.

The company continues to evaluate alternatives aimed at strengthening its network and providing connectivity with these markets.
