Malaysia Gold & Jewellery Trade Exhibition (MGJE) 2026 Returns with AI Innovation and Launch of Southeast Asia Gold Trading Platform

Penang, Malaysia — The Malaysia Gold & Jewellery Trade Exhibition (MGJE) 2026, organised by Province Wellesley Gold & Silver Ornament Merchants Association (PWGS) and co-organised by Malaysia Gold Association is set to return from 8 to 10 May 2026 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre; marking its 4th edition as a fast-growing international platform for the gold and jewellery industry. Supported by key partners including the Penang State Government, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE); MGJE 2026 continues to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a dynamic hub for regional and international trade. MGJE has grown into a global trade platform as the event evolved into a comprehensive trade ecosystem that brings together exhibitors and buyers from over 30 countries.

The exhibition spans the entire gold and jewellery supply chain—from raw materials, machinery and software solutions to finished jewellery and packaging innovations. Designed as a high-efficiency marketplace, MGJE enables direct connections between suppliers and buyers - facilitating faster deal-making, stronger partnerships and real commercial outcomes through its wide network and industry connections.

A key highlight of MGJE 2026 is the launch of “Gold Pavilion” - a Southeast Asia Gold Trading Platform that marks a major milestone for the industry. Gold Pavilion integrates high-quality manufacturers from Malaysia, China and across ASEAN into a structured and efficient ecosystem. It is designed to serve both B2B and B2C markets, connecting buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and beyond

Unlike traditional exhibitions, Gold Pavilion extends beyond the event itself—offering a 365-day continuous trading platform that enables businesses to sustain connections, explore ongoing opportunities, and achieve long-term growth.

This initiative represents a shift from conventional trade fairs to “always-on business” ecosystems, redefining how industry players engage and transact. Driving further into the future with AI innovation, MGJE 2026 will also introduce a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) within the gold and jewellery industry.

A dedicated AI Jewellery Design Showcase will demonstrate the full “concept-to-product” process - from idea generation and digital design to final production.

Through AI integration, product development cycles can be shortened by up to 70%, significantly improving efficiency, reducing costs and enabling faster response to market trends. This initiative highlights how technology is transforming traditional craftsmanship into smart agile manufacturing while opening new possibilities for innovation and competitiveness in the global market. PWGS aims to spearhead such visionary mission with this new MGJE 2026 initiative to showcase more than just an exhibition.

“MGJE is no longer just an exhibition - it is a platform that integrates trade, technology and long-term industry growth,” said Poon Wai Kit, President of PWGS. “As we enter our 4th edition, this milestone reflects the industry’s trust in MGJE.

With the introduction of Gold Pavilion and AI-driven initiatives, we are creating new opportunities for businesses to grow beyond the exhibition floor.” Industry players, trade buyers, jewellery enthusiasts, designers and media are invited to experience MGJE 2026 from 8 - 10 May 2026 in Penang and witness the next phase of transformation in the gold and jewellery sector. Various activities has been planned throughout the event as visitors are welcome to be more participative and engaged in the programmes.

One of the highlights are the jewellery fashion show that will showcase new designs and trend to feast the eyes of all visitors. Upon purchase, visitors will also get to play “Spin the Lucky Wheel” to win some prizes – varies from RM50 cash discount on next purchase to gold plates, gifts and goodies from exhibitors and PWGS members. There will also be a “kids corner” for visitors with children as the entrance is only open for 18 years and above. Register for FREE at www.tradefair.pwgs.org.my
