Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, will host an implementation dialogue on 5 May 2026 in Brussels, focused on air traffic management (ATM) within the Single European Sky (SES2+) framework.
The dialogue will take stock of the first full year of the implementation of the Single European Sky Regulation, and address key challenges faced by the EU’s ATM sector. These include ensuring sufficient capacity to manage the dense and growing air traffic in the EU, and reducing delays and cancellations, while maintaining high safety standards and improving environmental performance.
Member States and key ATM stakeholders are invited to discuss these challenges and propose solutions to remaining barriers. The discussion will focus on how to implement the EU regulatory framework effectively and mobilise financial support to accelerate the modernisation of Europe’s airspace. In addition to SES2+ implementation, the meeting will gather feedback on related initiatives, including SESAR programmes, the performance and charging scheme, the Common Project Regulation, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency framework.
