Navan Deploys New Catalog Tech to Clean Up Hotel Displays

Navan has developed a new hotel catalog infrastructure to display more consistently room and rate information to travelers, the travel and expense platform announced.

The catalog comes from a rebuild of Navan's hotel engine, which the company said is able to manage the complexity of room data from the variety of sources providing lodging content. For Navan, that inventory includes direct connections to such brands as Wyndham, Travelodge UK and Premier Inn as well as Sabre's and Amadeus' global distribution content and such online travel agency listings as Expedia and Booking.com.

Navan said its unified room catalog can organize and clean up hotel data across multiple platforms. The company also has deployed a room intelligence mapper that translates multiple room descriptions into a single, verified listing, according to Navan.

"By using [Large Language Models] as a universal translator, we’ve eliminated the duplicate listings that clutter search results, and we’ve improved how rates get matched to rooms," Navan Travel Marketplace SVP Dane Molter said in a statement. "Today, travelers using Navan only see rooms that actually exist, with more rate options and more detailed information and photography."

Navan said the new catalog infrastructure is a "scalable foundation" from which it will be able to pull in more direct connections and inventory in the future
