Golf Business Technology Conference 2026 returns to Belfast

 

The Golf Business Technology Conference (GBTC) will return to Belfast, Northern Ireland, from May 5 to 7, 2026, bringing together global professionals from across the golf industry to discuss the role of technology and innovation in the sector.

The event will be hosted at The Merchant Hotel and is expected to gather golf course operators, technology providers and industry leaders to examine how digital solutions and data-driven strategies are shaping the future of golf operations.

Following its inaugural edition, the 2026 conference will focus on key themes including sustainability, revenue generation, golf entertainment, operational efficiency and artificial intelligence in club management.


The programme will feature more than 50 industry speakers and experts addressing a range of operational, technological and strategic issues relevant to the global golf sector.

Among the keynote speakers is Karen Lyttle, Director of Technology at The R&A, who will deliver the opening keynote focused on technology transformation in major tournaments including The Open and the AIG Women’s Open.

Sarah Stirk, presenter for Sky Sports Golf, will also participate, sharing perspectives from international golf tours including the PGA and European Tours.

Other speakers include Simon Elsworth, Global Head of Professional Solutions at Syngenta, who will address data-driven decision-making and precision turf agronomy, and Gina Rizzi, President of Radius Sports Group, who will discuss sustainability and environmental impact within the golf industry.

Danny Campbell, General Manager of Royal Portrush Golf Club, will present insights on hosting The Open and managing world-class golf facilities, while Bob Morse, President and COO of Invited Clubs, will examine the evolution of hospitality strategies within private club networks.

Additional speakers will include representatives from companies and organisations such as TrackmanGolf GeniusLightspeedPower TeeDetails S.ALa Cala Resort and Ugolf International.

The conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and discussion on the technological transformation of the golf industry.
