We held our annual General Assembly and Member Meeting 2 March in Berlin. It was a day of honest discussion, valuable insight and strong engagement, and a reminder of the importance of collaboration, dialogue and partnership across our sector. Price increases, operational changes and access restrictions remain significant concerns, particularly when introduced at short notice, making costs difficult to absorb. This inevitably raises questions about Europe’s ongoing competitiveness, alongside disruption in the Middle East and wider geopolitical factors beyond our industry’s control. The message on the day was clear. Associations such as ETOA play a vital role in supporting and representing members in an ever changing business environment. The North American outbound market has been on the agenda for us in March with the inaugural Showcase: Outbound North America. Over 250 attendees have engaged with one another through online meetings, learned about the outbound market through insight sessions, and about Europe from a range of product presentations by suppliers and destinations. Together with Japan, China and India, it's evident that North America continues to be a main long-haul inbound market for Europe. | |||||||||||||||||||

Following our Amsterdam working group meeting end of February, we met with members and industry colleagues at the Art Zoo Museum for an ETOA Social. Did you know that the museum has just been mentioned by TIME as one of the World's Greatest Places of 2026? In Brussels, Tim Fairhurst attended The Future of Cities Forum, and joined a subsequent round table to explore common principles and priorities. In March we also held ETOA Socials in Belfast, Berlin and New York. Following our Social in Berlin, the team attended ITB and met up with partners and members. Thank you to everyone who joined our events in March and took time to meet with us at ITB.
