The world’s best new luxury hotels of 2025: Rosewood leads LTI’s global ranking

Luxury Travel Intelligence (LTI) has released its annual list of the World’s Best New Luxury Hotels of 2025, recognising 15 standout hotel openings that have redefined global luxury hospitality over the past year. The ranking reflects in-depth evaluation by LTI, focusing on design, service excellence, location, originality and long-term brand impact.

This year’s list highlights a strong performance by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, which secured three entries, more than any other brand, and claimed the top position with The Chancery Rosewood in London, named World’s Best New Luxury Hotel 2025.

A global snapshot of new luxury supply

The ranking reflects the continued global expansion of ultra-luxury hospitality across urban gateways, resort destinations and emerging experiential locations. Properties span Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Latin America, illustrating where investment and demand for high-end travel are converging.

Among the notable entries are Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Costa Rica at number 15, and Rosewood Mandarina in Mexico at number 14, both emphasising low-density luxury and strong integration with natural environments. Urban luxury is also well represented, with The Twenty Two New YorkMandarin Oriental ViennaFaena New York City and Aman Bangkok all appearing in the top 15.

Heritage, transformation and experiential depth

Several properties stand out for adaptive reuse and heritage-led development. The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace in India and Collegio alla Querce – Auberge Collection in Florence transform historic sites into contemporary luxury assets, while Orient Express La Minerva in Rome marks the iconic brand’s first move from rail into hotels.

Experiential and sustainability-driven hospitality is another key theme. Few & Far Luvhondo in South Africa and &Beyond Suyian Lodge in Kenya reflect growing demand for conservation-led, purpose-driven luxury travel with limited inventory and high experiential value.

Rosewood’s standout year

Rosewood’s performance is a defining feature of the 2025 ranking. In addition to The Chancery Rosewood taking the top spot, the brand is also recognised for Rosewood Mandarina and Rosewood Courchevel, underlining its momentum across resort, ski and urban luxury segments.

LTI notes that launching an ultra-luxury hotel in London requires exceptional execution to stand out in a highly competitive market. In this context, The Chancery Rosewood is highlighted for its all-suite concept, eight restaurants and bars, and the expansive Asaya Spa, positioning it as a destination in its own right.

Top three luxury hotel openings of 2025

The top three reflect different interpretations of contemporary luxury. Aman Bangkok ranks third, praised for delivering tranquillity and privacy in one of Asia’s busiest cities. &Beyond Suyian Lodge takes second place, offering a highly immersive safari experience in Kenya’s Laikipia region. At number one, The Chancery Rosewood sets the benchmark for new ultra-luxury urban hotels.

For travel and hospitality professionals, the 2025 LTI ranking highlights several clear trends: the strength of experiential and nature-based luxury, the continued appeal of heritage conversions, and the importance of brand credibility in highly competitive markets. It also signals where high-net-worth traveller demand is being actively cultivated, providing valuable insight for tour operators, advisors and destination partners shaping premium travel portfolios in the years ahead.
