UN Tourism expands its Affiliate Members network with 22 new organizations

 

UN Tourism has expanded its global Affiliate Members network with the admission of 22 new organizations representing a broad mix of tourism stakeholders. The new members include destination management organizations, private-sector companies, associations, NGOs, academic institutions and specialized tourism entities. Their admission reflects UN Tourism’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration across the global tourism ecosystem.

The newly accepted members represent 14 countries across the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. Europe contributes the largest number of new members with nine entities, followed by six from the Middle East, four from Asia and the Pacific, and three from the Americas. This geographic spread demonstrates the growing interest of both mature and emerging markets in aligning with UN Tourism’s programmes and knowledge-sharing activities.

As the organization marks its 50th anniversary, Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili highlighted the significance of expanding the Affiliate Members network, which now comprises more than 500 entities in 80 countries. He noted that these members continue to contribute expertise, innovation and practical support to strengthen sustainable and inclusive tourism development worldwide.

The new Affiliate Members approved during the 26th Session of the UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh (7–11 November 2025) include:

The diverse composition of the new members strengthens the network’s role as a multi-stakeholder platform supporting knowledge exchange, strategic collaboration and innovation in tourism development. Their participation is expected to contribute to UN Tourism’s broader objectives around resilience, sustainability and sector transformation..
