airBaltic Launches New Direct Route from Tallinn to Madeira

The Latvian national airline airBaltic has launched a new direct route connecting Tallinn with Madeira, Portugal. The service will be operated once per week, on Sundays, until March 28, 2026.

Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at airBaltic: “Madeira stands out as one of Europe’s most unique and scenic island destinations, and we are delighted to make it directly accessible from Tallinn for the first time. This new route offers Estonian travelers the chance to experience a distinctive winter escape combining nature, adventure, and mild climate. Alongside Madeira, our expanding leisure portfolio for the colder months – including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Malaga, Nice, and Barcelona – continues to provide Estonian travelers with a wide variety of destinations and reinforces airBaltic’s position as the leading carrier in Estonia.”

The flight time between Tallinn and Madeira is six hours and five minutes.

For the upcoming winter season, airBaltic will increase its Tallinn-Amsterdam service from 10 to 14 weekly flights, further improving connectivity within Europe and beyond. Additionally, travelers from Tallinn will benefit from convenient one-stop connections via Riga to Dubai six times per week.

During the winter season, airBaltic will also continue to serve popular skiing gateways from Tallinn, including Salzburg, Geneva, and Munich, offering convenient access to Europe’s top alpine resorts.

With these additions, airBaltic continues to expand its network to meet the growing demand for travel from Estonia, strengthen its position in the Baltic market, and promote growth in inbound tourism and international business travel.

airBaltic operates more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, offering connections to a wide range of destinations in the airline's route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
