Omio adds České dráhy to platform, boosting European rail connectivity

BERLIN – Omio and České dráhy have entered into a strategic partnership to improve access to cross-border and domestic train services across Central and Eastern Europe. Effective from September, customers using Omio can now book tickets on all České dráhy routes, including regional Regio services, InterCity (IC), EuroCity (EC), and high-speed Railjet and Comfortjet lines.

This integration allows for seamless travel connections between the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries including Germany (Berlin, Dresden, Munich), Austria (Vienna, Linz, Graz), Switzerland (Zurich), Slovakia (Bratislava, Košice), Hungary (Budapest), and Poland (Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice). It also provides coverage of key domestic routes such as Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, and Český Krumlov.

For travel professionals, this development enhances the multimodal options available through Omio’s booking system, catering to a growing international demand for train travel across borders. Omio’s data indicates rising interest from global users in accessing the Central European rail network, with particular attention to destinations beyond the major cities.

Veronica Diquattro, President B2C and Supply, Europe, Omio says: “This partnership marks a major milestone for Omio and is a key piece of the puzzle for a complete European multimodal offering. International travellers now have even more seamless access and choice to explore the continent by train, further enhancing their travel experience.

Petr Vondráček, Director of the Passenger Transport Business Department, České dráhy, says: “The cooperation with Omio is another step for České dráhy towards strengthening the accessibility of our services for passengers from all over the world. Through this partnership, we are opening up to a wider group of customers and making it easier for them to plan and carry out their journeys both within the Czech Republic and abroad. Our shared goal is to promote train travel as a modern, eco-friendly, and user-friendly mode of transportation across Europe.

This announcement comes as part of Omio’s wider expansion strategy in 2025, which includes partnerships with over 60 airlines and hundreds of ground transport operators across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

For travel trade stakeholders, the inclusion of České dráhy on Omio’s platform presents new product opportunities for cross-border itinerary planning, particularly within the Central European corridor. It also reinforces the growing relevance of multimodal platforms in consumer trip planning, especially as rail travel continues to gain traction among eco-conscious and experience-driven travellers.
