Specialist operator Wexas has acquired independent wildlife tour operator 2by2 Holidays.
The deal, for an undisclosed amount, comprises the purchase of the share capital as well as all current employees.
2by2 Holidays was established by Claire Farley two decades ago who will now step down as MD.
However, she will be retained on a consultant basis to oversee the transition.
Wexas sold off its business travel division and indicated it was looking to expand its presence in the leisure sector.
“Since selling our corporate division, Wexas Travel Management, in 2023, we’ve been actively looking for potential travel acquisitions. We’re delighted to announce 2by2 Holidays as our first acquisition,” said Wexas MD Katherine Gershon.
“The 2by2 Holidays’ wildlife and birding expertise sits well alongside Wexas’ own heritage of exploration and adventure.”
It will complement existing brands, Wexas Travel, The Luxury Holiday Company and Best Served Scandinavia she says.
2by2 Holidays offers trips to Africa, India and South America among other destinations.
“I know that Wexas has a focus on experiential travel and is the ideal home for my business as I prepare to retire,” Claire Farley said.
