Iberia Group breaks its passenger record, with almost 31 million passengers by 2024

  • The good performance of routes from/to Latin America with a 16% increase in seats available has contributed to this figure.
  • Also the opening of new destinations such as Japan, Ljubljana, Tirana, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Tromso.

The Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum) reached a record in 2024carrying 30,732,745 passengers. These figures are due to the increase in demand for both business and leisure travel, as well as the good performance of all markets, especially Latin America and the new destinations launched in the last year.

This growth was achieved by the three airlines that make up the Iberia Group. Specifically, Iberia carried 18,677,812 passengers, Iberia Express 7,687,718 passengers and Air Nostrum 4,367,215 passengers.

These figures demonstrate the Iberia Group's strength in all markets, with a special focus on Latin America, where Iberia increased its capacity by 16% in 2024. In total, Iberia made 5,300,000 seats available to its customers between Europe and the 18 destinations in Latin America, which translates into 320 weekly flights.

This increase in passengers was also influenced by the new routes opened by Iberia last year, including Japan, a destination inaugurated in October, TiranaLjubljanaSalzburgInnsbruckand Tromso.

“We are very pleased to have been able to transport so many customers to their destinations and to do so under Iberia's hallmarks: commitment, service and excellence. The good performance of our routes to Latin America, together with the rest of our destinations in North America, Europe and the recently inaugurated route to Japan, have been key to achieving this record. Of course, this achievement would not have been possible without the effort and dedication of all Iberia employees, who make it possible to deliver on our commitment to our customers”, said Beatriz Guillén, Iberia's Global Sales Director.

Growth has not been limited to international markets. Iberia Express has recorded excellent performance on its routes to the Canary and Balearic Islands, while Iberia Regional Air Nostrum has boosted connectivity on domestic and European routes. These operations have been instrumental in consolidating the Iberia group's success and responding to growing customer demand.
