Accor to launch new ibis hotels at Berlin and Munich Airports in 2025

Accor has announced plans to expand its ibis family of brands in Germany, with five new hotel openings slated for 2025.

The new properties will strengthen Accor’s presence in the economy hotel segment, catering to cost-conscious travelers with modern amenities and convenient locations.

Two of the new ibis hotels are set to debut near Berlin Brandenburg Airport in spring 2025.

The ibis and ibis budget properties, each featuring 114 rooms, will share common areas such as a lobby, reception, and café. Both hotels will be conveniently located close to Grunbergallee S-Bahn station, offering direct connections to the airport.

In mid-2025, ibis Styles Munich Airport will open next to the existing Novotel Munich Airport. This 358-room hotel will include a restaurant, bar, breakfast area, and co-working space, providing travelers with both comfort and functionality.

Additional openings include the ibis Styles Neckarsulm, a 97-room property located around 60 kilometers north of Stuttgart.

Scheduled for a spring 2025 launch, the hotel’s design will draw inspiration from motorcycles and automobiles, reflecting the region’s rich automotive heritage.

By mid-2025, ibis Styles Hamburg HafenCity will welcome guests with 403 rooms, a breakfast restaurant, and a bar. This property will neighbor the upcoming Novotel Hamburg HafenCity, also set to open next year.

These developments follow ibis’ 50th anniversary celebration in 2024, during which the brand reopened its Gatwick Airport property after a £14 million renovation and expansion.

Accor noted that increasing price sensitivity among travelers has boosted demand for budget-friendly yet high-quality accommodations.

Thiemo Willms, Vice President of Development DACH at Accor, highlighted the brand’s focus on affordability and quality: “Our brand concepts in the economy sector illustrate Accor’s strengths: modern, high-quality service, an individualized approach through appealing and adaptive design, and a guest experience that goes beyond the mere hotel stay through additional offers such as our ALL loyalty program.

Based on this formula for success, we are delighted to be expanding our economy offer with a number of high-quality new hotels across Germany together with our partners.”

With these openings, Accor aims to meet the evolving needs of travelers while further solidifying its position in Germany’s economy hotel market.
