WORLD TOURISM DAY
IGLTA celebrates international travel year-round, but on World Tourism Day (27 September), we join UN Tourism in commemorating its founding principles. This special day serves as an annual reminder of the social, cultural, political and economic benefits that traveling brings to our world. IGLTA adds an LGBTQ+ perspective, highlighting how international travel connects people across sexual orientation, gender identity and differing cultures.

Croatia, while embracing modern progress, has a complex history with LGBTQIA+ rights. The country's path to acceptance has been marked with challenges, particularly during the turbulent Yugoslav era. It wasn't until 2003 that Croatia saw the legalization of same-sex unions, demonstrating a significant step forward in LGBTQIA+ rights.
