PATA And TSS Join Forces To EnsureDrive Sustainable And Impactful Growth In Asia-Pacific Tourism Sector

PATA partners with Tourism Seasonality Summit to tackle seasonality challenges in Asia-Pacific, promoting sustainable tourism and balanced growth.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has entered into a significant partnership with the World Tourism Seasonality Summit CEO Ged Brown and PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid to tackle the pressing issue of seasonality in tourism across the Asia-Pacific region.

This alliance aims to promote sustainable tourism growth and achieve a balanced approach to managing visitor numbers throughout the year.

The partnership was formally established with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between World Tourism Seasonality Summit CEO Ged Brown and PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid. The signing ceremony took place during the PATA Knowledge Forum on August 27, part of the broader PATA Travel Mart 2024 event.

The collaboration focuses on addressing the challenges associated with peak tourism seasons, which often lead to over-tourism and strain on local resources and communities. Both organizations are committed to developing strategies that mitigate these impacts, ensuring that tourism experiences are not only enjoyable but also sustainable. This joint effort highlights a commitment to preserving the quality of life for host communities while maintaining the cultural and environmental integrity of tourist destinations.

By working together, PATA and TSS aim to create a resilient tourism industry capable of adapting to seasonal fluctuations in visitor numbers. Their efforts will help protect the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, ensuring that both visitors and residents benefit from a well-managed and thoughtful approach to tourism
