West Midlands travel agency Mercian Travel rebrands as Destina and appoints new Agency Manager

Mercian Travel, a leading retail travel agency in Hagley, West Midlands, has announced a full rebrand, unveiling its new name, fresh website and new look store. Now known as Destina by Good Travel, the luxury travel agency on Worcester Road Hagley, has undergone a complete refurbishment to provide a bright, modern and inviting space for its customers.
Kevin Harrison, Managing Director of Good Travel and Destina commented: “I am delighted to announce Mercian Travel is now rebranded as Destina. We’ve taken a lot of time to create the new brand that celebrates our values, our vision and the customers we serve but also upholds our hard-won reputation for delivering the best in luxury travel.”
Destina’s logo includes a series of interlocking ‘D’ shapes, reminiscent of the Celtic five-fold symbol meaning North / East / South / West / Centre (forming a compass), also representing the four seasons and elements, and the colour scheme reflects the aspects of luxury travel. The business was keen to include the Good Travel name in some way, as a reminder of the family ownership and heritage of the John Good Group, which dates back to 1833.
To coincide with the rebrand, Destina has appointed a new Head of Leisure Travel, Abi Hyslop, to lead the newly rebranded business. Abi has over 15 years’ experience in the travel industry including previous roles at British Airways, Good Travel (Destina’s parent company) and most recently Pure Destinations in Edgbaston as Head of Operations and weddings and honeymoon specialist.
Abi commented, “I’m delighted to be joining Destina at such an exciting time for the business and thrilled to be rejoining such a well established and respected family business. Being from the area, I can’t wait to meet our customers and share with them all that Destina has to offer. Our team has been with the business for years, their friendly and knowledgeable approach and willingness to go the extra mile in creating the perfect holiday, delivers a brilliant customer experience that keeps customers coming back year after year. We’re keen to increase our role in the local community too, which will start with our exciting relaunch event.”
On Abi’s appointment, Kevin commented, “Abi brings extensive experience to Destina and will be a real asset to the team. Her focus on customer experience will only enhance the great service we’re already so well known for; I know our customers will be delighted with the positive changes we’re making to ensure we continue to delight our customers from the first time they speak to us to their arrival back home at the end of their holiday.”
