Rosewood London Opened

LONDON—Rosewood London, the capital’s latest luxury hotel located in Holborn—one of London’s historic locales—opened rercently.
Following an extensive renovation to transform the 1914 Edwardian Belle Epoque building, the original architectural features have been restored by a team of craftsmen, including the Grade II-listed street frontage and dome and the grand Pavonazzo marble staircase, which rises up through all seven stories of the hotel beneath the 166-ft. cupola.

Guests enter via a carriageway, which leads to a courtyard, offering a sense of arrival akin to a private manor house. The hotel’s 262 guestrooms and 44 suites feature artwork and books, and restaurants offer both classic and contemporary British dishes.

Tony Chi and Associates designed the accommodations, event spaces and public areas. Chi used materials such as lacquer, textured wood veneers and prismatic mirrors.

The suites include the Grand Manor House Wing. Accessed via a private elevator and its own street entrance, it has six bedrooms, a dressing chamber, a library, a dining room and several sitting rooms arranged over 6,318 sq. ft. The Garden House features a garden terrace overlooking the London skyline.
