Garuda Indonesia to increase flights from Singapore to Bali and Surabaya

Indonesia’s national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia,  increased flights from Singapore to Bali and Surabaya starting last month.

Garuda Indonesia currently operates a daily and four times weekly service on its Singapore - Bali route and a four times weekly service from Singapore to Surabaya. Effective 27 October, Garuda will increase flights on its Singapore - Bali route to a double daily. The airline will also begin operating daily flights between Singapore and Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city.

"Indonesia is an important regional business and leisure hub and passenger traffic to the country continues to grow. There is a lot of potential to connect Singapore with more Indonesian destinations and it is a natural step for Garuda as the national flag carrier to meet this strong demand,” said Nicodemus Lampe, Vice President, Area Asia, Garuda Indonesia. “With the newly added flights, we hope to provide our passengers greater convenience and flexibility when planning their trips.”

With the added frequency to Bali and Surabaya, Garuda will be operating over 90 weekly flights from Singapore to four Indonesian destinations namely Bali, Jakarta, Balikpapan and Surabaya.

The new flights will operate using the airline’s Boeing 737-800 Next Generation, which features the Garuda Indonesia’s ‘Nature’s Wing’ livery, signature interior and upgraded on-board services. Passengers will also have the opportunity to enjoy the airline’s ‘five senses’ service concept known as the ‘Garuda Indonesia Experience’, which combines warm Indonesian hospitality with quality service that emphasizes on safety and comfort.

To celebrate the introduction of these increased frequencies, Garuda is running a sale on flights to both holiday hotspots, plus attractive fares to the Indonesian capital Jakarta from now till 30 September. Travellers can take advantage of the attractive fares to plan vacations for the year-end holidays. Valid for travel till 20 December, return flights will be on sale to Bali from just S$288, to Surabaya for S$258 and S$318 to Jakarta.

Garuda Indonesia was recently named ‘Best in Region: Asia and Australiasia’ by Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), in the ‘APEX Passenger Choice Awards 2013. It was also voted the ‘World’s Best Regional Airline’ by Skytrax, a London-based global airline review and ranking consultancy.
