After
last month’s dramatic increase in
hotel prices,
figures have finally fallen across the UK and Europe.
trivago
Hotel Price Index
(tHPI) reported that an overnight
stay in October will now cost an average of 99
pounds, compared to 105 pounds last month.
Last
month saw hotel prices increase by up to 21 per cent in the
UK’s main cities. After the expensive Olympic
summer, travellers this
month will be glad to know UK hotel prices have finally
dropped. In anticipation of the beginning of Autumn and
colder weather,
one night is on average £4 cheaper than last month.
Cities
with the largest decreases in overnight accommodation are Brighton
(down 15 per cent compared to last month), Edinburgh (down
13 per cent) and Dublin (also down 13 per cent). The cheapest cities
are currently Blackpool (one night will cost an average of
£64), Sheffield (on
average £70 per night) and Birmingham (on average £74 per night).
