RIU Hotels & Resorts, on Saturday, 22 October, reopened one of its most emblematic hotels, the Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancún, Mexico, after a total renovation to modernize the facilities and add new services.
One of the main novelties is that following this reopening, the hotel will be the chain's first in Cancún and the Mayan Riviera reserved exclusively for guests over the age of 18. This change makes it the perfect choice for a romantic escapade or an adventure for a group of friends.
The hotel, built in 2004 on the beach of Playa de Cancún, maintains some of its most singular elements, such as its majestic columns, crystal lamps, wood ornaments and luxurious marble paneling. But at the same time, its new style is fresh and contemporary, thanks to the introduction of new materials, colors and designs, both in its 372 rooms and in the common zones and the lobby and restaurant.
To make the hotel "Adults Only", the chain has introduced exclusive services with added value: a welcoming glass of champagne, concierge service, a bathrobe, and the options, for an additional charge, of enjoying a special wine list and a romantic dinner on the beach. Guests will also have free WiFi throughout the hotel, including the swimming pool and the beach zone, and premium liquors at all bars and in the dispensers in the rooms.
As additional novelties, the Riu Palace Las Americas has added, in the lobby, a zone dedicated to pastries and ice cream called Capuchino, and the Lounge 24 bar, which will offer snacks and beverages at night as well. Similarly, the buffet restaurant area and terrace have been expanded for enjoying lunch and dinner in the sea air. Lastly, the swimming pools and garden areas have also been renovated.
In total, RIU Hotels & Resorts has invested $12 million. This investment is part of the chain's strategic plan of renovating all of its hotels to enhance the quality of its offering. Once reopened, RIU hopes to surprise its loyal customers with a Riu Palace Las Americas that seems more like a brand new hotel than a renovated one. See hotels in Cancun.
