As part of its ongoing commitment to ensure that its staff are equipped to handle any emergency situation in a timely, safe and responsible manner Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, last week successfully conducted a company-wide fire and safety drill at the airline’s headquarters in line with Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Interior requirements.
The planned fire and safety drill, performed at the airline’s headquarters in coordination with Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior Civil Defence Department served to train Gulf Air employees for emergency preparedness and equip them in the event that an actual evacuation is needed. Assigned Marshalls were trained with regards to the evacuation procedure and successfully coordinated the fire and safety drill.
The drill aimed to assess the adequacy of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency and its successful and seamless completion provided Gulf Air staff with a valuable opportunity to learn and improve their emergency preparedness. The drill was coordinated by the airline’s Medical Services Department and Organizational Health and Safety division.
