Texas Sees 43% Increase in UK Visitor Figures


Texas Tourism has revealed that UK visitor figures to Texas totalled 226,000 in 2013; an additional 68,000, which is 43% up on the previous year.
The United States as a whole experienced a 1.9% increase in UK visitors which is the first increase since 2008. Texas now boasts a 5.9% overall market share.
The UK is Texas's largest overseas market and in 2013 British visitors spent nearly $245million USD whilst in the state.
Texas benefits from nine daily direct flight services from London to Dallas- Fort Worth, Houston and Austin, with British Airways, United Airlines and American Airlines.
The most popular activities in Texas for UK visitors were, in order of popularity, shopping, sightseeing, experiencing fine dining, visiting small towns or countryside, historical tourism, visiting national parks, art galleries and museums, sporting events, guided tours and nightlife.
