World’s top selling destination for golf; Spain will host golf tourism suppliers, buyers and media in Tenerife for the 2015 edition of International Golf Travel Market (IGTM).
The largest and most populous Canary Island will welcome IGTM 2015, organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions, to the Magma Conference Centre in Costa Adeje on October 5-8.
Tenerife boasts nine different golf courses and, with an average annual temperature of 23˚C (73.4˚F), offers the ideal climate for golfers. Its 70km of beaches plus a wide variety of cultural activities, available both on and off the water, make the island a popular tourist destination.
Carlos Alonso, President of the Tenerife Government (Cabildo), said: “Golf tourism plays a fundamental part in attracting international visitors to the island.
“By hosting IGTM, we have an unrivalled opportunity to showcase our world class golf resorts to tour operators, as well as to enhance the island’s reputation globally as an established and diverse golfing destination.”
Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, said, “More than 20 of the island’s four and five-star hotels, as well as nine golf courses and the impressive Magma Conference Centre have fully collaborated with regional government to demonstrate that Tenerife is not only ready to host IGTM but that the island as a whole is a world class destination for golfers and tourists to visit,”.
