Ace British barnstormer Mark Jefferies will make a welcome return to Avalon for Airshow 2015.
The ten times UK aerobatic champion will be the lead pilot for a breath taking routine flown by the Awesome Global Stars aerobatic team.
This spectacular display will include a series of precision manoeuvers, tumbles and spins and some of the best precision aerobatics seen anywhere in the world.
Jefferies caught the aerobatics bug in 1984 just four years after gaining his private pilot’s license.
He won the UK national titles the following year in a vintage1936 aircraft he rebuilt from second hand parts obtained from the Spanish Air Force.
In 2000 he built a Laser 200 and became the only person to win the UK aerobatic championships in an aircraft he made himself.
These days Jefferies flies a high performance stage-of–the-art Extra 330, widely considered the most exciting and success aerobatic aircraft ever built.
He is an elite performer on the international stage and has flown at air shows throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
He is also a regular feature of England’s famous Farnborough Air Show.
Mark Jefferies will join high flying daredevils from throughout the world to perform at Airshow 2015.
Like the barnstormers of old, these daring young men in their flying machines will captivate the crowd with gravity-defying feats of bravery and skill.
The Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defence Exposition will be staged at Avalon Airport 24 February to 1 March.
The event is open to the public from the afternoon of Friday 27 February and all day Saturday and Sunday.
