A modern Nordic-inspired spa experience arrives in traditional Megève

As widespread snow falls across the Alps, Hôtel Le Lodge Park – one of the most stylish hotels in the French alpine village of Megève – makes the final touches to a new Pure Altitude Spa.
Due to launch on 20 December 2013, when the hotel reopens for the season, the Nordic-inspired spa will bring a modern twist to traditional Megève.

Always brimming with style and innovation, Pure Altitude is the award winning spa concept of the Maisons & Hotels Sibuet collection. Built around the healing power of alpine plants and the five natural elements of wood, fire, stone, plants and water, Pure Altitude uses the active ingredients of Edelweiss and other mountain minerals, and is dedicated to muscular relaxation, physical preparation, recuperation and wellbeing.

Spread across 500sqm, the spa at Le Lodge Park will comprise five treatment rooms, a large indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and fully equipped Technogym fitness gym. There is also a sauna, hammam andrelaxation room offering luminotherapy sessions. Signature treatments include the ‘Bol d’Air Pur’ (detoxifying and pampering facial, using hot stones and jade rollers), the ‘Energétique des Alpes’ Ritual (balancing and relaxing body treatment, combining manual techniques with linen bags full of salts and mountain plants), and the ‘Massage à la Bougie’ (ultra-repairing and innovative massage, using snowflower candle-balm, the hallmark of the Pure Altitude range).

Rustic though warm in design and ambience, the use of raw materials and soft colours throughout echo the values upon which the spa’s philosophy was founded. Inspired by Nordic landscapes, the treatment cabins use subdued colours mixed with fur and bark; the fitness suite includes raw birch wood and granite incrusted with pebbles and frozen glass; while the walls in the relaxation room are covered in white fur to give the sensation of floating on a cloud.

Set in an enviable location, just metres from main village square, Le Lodge Park has been designed as a traditional hunting lodge, with animal skins, wood trunks and roaring fires throughout. There are 49 spacious rooms and suites, each with a different theme and most with log fires. The cozy lounge is informal yet elegant; while Le Beef Lodge, which launched in December 2012, is already recognised as the finest steakhouse in Megève. The hotel’s Trapper Bar, with its hunting trophies, natural stone fireplace, tartan rugs, and touches of fur and leather throughout, is the place for après-ski drinks.

Stay at Le Lodge Park for the annual Grande Odyssee Savoie Mont-Blanc, the ‘most difficult dog and sleigh race in the world’ on 16 January 2014; or as the historic home of snow polo in France, there is no better time to visit Megève than during the BMW Snow Polo Masters, 24-27 January 2014. LeLodge Park will also reopen for the summer season for the first time in 2014, providing the ideal base to enjoy a summer spa break in the Alps.
